Exhibiting at the MSM Conference with these caring educators is the perfect way to start off a new year. They are such huge fans of Clara’s Curiosity and I look forward to seeing them again when I enter their schools for an author storytime puppet reading and interactive activity, like the “Read the Forest” with binoculars that I organize as a way to go beyond the read aloud and engage with the students in a joyful and meaningful learning experience together.

Thanks to Sophia and Kourtnie for their quick planning I was able to fit another event into our visit on Grand Cayman and meet a lovely group of young readers for a storytime puppet show of their own. The children were so attentive and shared their favorite parts of the story and we talked about what they might write about in their adventure story activity.

When I was invited to kick off the holiday season on Grand Cayman Island it was not a long pause before I quickly answered – YES! Brian organized the entire event with ease. Being introduced by The Hon. Ms. Vanessa Allard was amazing and a pleasure to work together as we engaged with the eager children for this storytime puppet reading. They asked all the right questions about the Maine gray fox and we look forward to returning to the island for an event with the next book in the series.

It was a no-brainer to join this event to help them raise funds for their Travel Fund that provides children transportation to and from the hospital. If you are ever looking for a great cause to support please visit their website.

Well we packed up the CC Trailer and headed out to our first event in NY. We were excited to participate in our first Homeschooling Conference and look forward to making many more connections with Homeschooling Parents and helping find resources that are meaningful and supportive for them to use to go beyond the read aloud.

After meeting an educator from the Thacher Montessori School at the MSM Conference I was welcomed into their school for an author storytime visit followed by the interactive Read the Forest with binoculars outing. Children were engaged and asked many questions that informed them of what they would draw on their activity sheets.

Being invited to the school to be the first outdoor classroom event since creating this great green space for their students was an honor. Not to mention it was on one of my favorite days – International Fox Day. Check out the student news report video to see all the engagement I had with these curious young readers.

My first event in RI and it was such an amazing day! I had no idea what the Looff was and was so excited to see the beautifully restored carousel. If you have never attended this event – you have to do it, and make time to ride the historic carousel. I’m looking forward to my next visit to RI!

What a spectacular day we had in Braintree to celebrate our award with the local family & friends in support of the Joshua Kaye Foundation, Family Fun Day Event. With all the wind it was still just a perfect day, and the Minion stole the show, of course! Folks stopped by our tent and wanted to hear all about our book award. So thrilled to say that many of these kiddos we engaged with will be reading Clara’s Curiosity this summer with their new fox stuffed animal book companion. With all the sunshine and beautiful green space the Daisy Girl Scouts Troop leaned in for a storytime reading followed by my “Read the Forest Adventure” where we all walked through a nearby forest trail and spotted so many interesting bits of nature with our binoculars. We were all excited to see the large grey heron nest at the top of the trees. Every girl scout received a certificate for taking the Clara’s Curiosity Pledge & the Read the Forest Adventure!

It was a rainy day on Exchange Street in Portland, Maine but a huge day for me. I knew that if I ever wrote a book I would want to have a book signing event at my favorite and oldest bookstore in Maine. They don’t get better than Sherman’s! It was so busy with so many friendly people all kind enough to stop at the table, purchase a book and congratulate me on my dreams coming to reality. Thanks for the warm welcome and kind words to all we spoke with. Till next time! 

What an amazing event. It was calling for rain but we had blue skies thankfully – We could have done without the wind, but I’m glad we went! I met up with some wonderful parents, educators, and children that just love our new fox stuffed animals that go great with Clara’s Curiosity. A HUGE Thank You to all that stopped by our tent for a fox sticker, wordsearch, book, binoculars and a fox too!

What a truly magical children’s book section in this delightful bookstore. If you have never made a stop in you must do it. Your curious young reader will engage with a great selection of books to choose from and get to hide inside the children’s tree. What a great little nook to read a book! Such a treat to Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day at Aseop’s Fable Bookstore with a lovely group of young readers who had some of the best questions about Clara’s Curiosity & Her Foxy Friends. What a delightful day to celebrate with them!

Another perfect way to start off a Saturday morning reading to a group of children and parents in a bookstore.

Wow! Thanks to Manager, Mark at the B&N Bookstore, Legacy Place Book, Dedham, MA. What a thrill it was to greet all of the customers as they came into the door and I was able to share information about how Clara’s Curiosity can be used in so many teaching opportunities with young readers. I signed books for two hours and was so warmly welcomed by all. You can find Clara’s Curiosity in the local authors book section in the front of the store. We will be back in the store for many more visits so watch our updates!

Although it was a rainy day and we only had a few children join us for our Storytime, we had such a pleasant morning at the sweet Richard’s Memorial Library and even got to meet another curious reader named Clara!

It was such a wonderful surprise to see so many supporters and fans of Clara’s Curiosity in So. Portland, Maine for a shared read-aloud together where young readers joined me in the children’s book section for an interactive fox puppet storytime. You can now stop into your local Barnes & Noble and request my nature-based children’s book.

I couldn’t dream of a better way to celebrate International Day of Forests than reading Clara’s Curiosity & Her Foxy Friends to the curious kiddos in Clara’s school at Biddeford Primary School during their “Friday Fun – Pajama Day.” Judy, thank you for inviting us into your classrooms to share my story, and forest fun activity sheets!
